How To Submit A Print Template Update Request

Updates to existing Print Templates need to be submitted to Nuance Print Templates department via a ticket.

Prepare the Request

We will need the following information:

  1. What is the CLIENT CODE for the client that needs the update? The client code is often the "short name" for the client.
  2. Which Document Type is being updated?
  3. Should the change affect all Users and/or all Locations that use this Document Type?
  4. If not, which specific Users and/or specific Location(s) should get this change?
  5. Is there a specific TID example that we can reference?

Submit the Ticket

Once this information is ready, submit a Ticket via the Nuance Ticket web page.

Click on the "Print Templates & VR Style Sheets" box to start creating the new ticket.

Select the "Print Template" option and click on Next.

The print template ticket form should appear.

All fields with a red asterisk must be filled in to submit the print template request.

Fill in the "Client" field with the CLIENT CODE.

The request should be as clear and detailed as possible. Also, please provide a sample TID for us to reference.

Ticket Message Description

Please include the following in the Ticket Message Description:

  1. Include a sentence that this is an UPDATE to an existing print template.
  2. Mention which part(s) of the print template need to be changed.
  3. Provide a TID example that should be referenced for this change.
  4. Which Document Type(s) are being updated?
  5. Should the change affect all Users and/or all Locations that use this Document Type?
  6. If not, which specific Users and/or specific Location(s) should get this change?

Note: Any requests to apply a change to "All Users and Document Types" that we find are not relevant or applicable to the client setup will often result in a delay while processing your request. We will usually need you to find out which specific Users and Document Types the update will apply to anyway before we can continue processing your request.


Click on "Send" once all information has been filled out, and if it is all correct you will see a notice giving you the ticket number. An email will be sent to the email address with information on your ticket including the ticket number. Make a note of that ticket number, as it will expedite future requests about that ticket if it is given to Nuance staff.

Add Attachments

There is also the option to attach files after the form is submitted. Click on "attach file" to attach a file. A scanned image or document that shows what is wanted will expedite the print template change request. You can follow the steps on How To Create A .DOC Or .PDF Of An Existing Print Template to produce a sample, and then modify it in a program such as MS Word to show us what you need.

A single document can be attached to the ticket. If more than one document needs to be attached, we recommend that you click on 'back' and do the process over again for additional attachments.
