The following instructions will take you through the process of backing up and restoring your AutoText folder based on the 4.3 versions on InScribe.
InScribe version's 4.3: Navigate to the InScribe folder/directory located at C:\Program Files\Emdat\InScribe. You will notice a directory called AutoText.
Right click on the AutoText directory and select copy.
At this point you must navigate to a place you would like to store the backup of your AutoText folder. This needs to be in another location (Examples: My Documents Folder, Desktop, Memory Stick, Backup Drive). In this example we will use your My Documents directory. So now open your My Documents directory, and from the options at the top select "Edit" then select the "Paste" option.
This will place a copy of you AutoText directory in the My Documents folder for a backup.
The restore process of a backup AutoText directory is similar to what we just did to back it up. This time you would start where your backup is located, "My Documents" based on the above example. Then right click on the AutoText directory, and select copy. Now navigate back to C:\Program Files\Emdat\InScribe and go to edit, and select paste. You may be notified that the directory already exists, and it will ask you if you want to overwrite it. If you are certain that the backup file you have just selected copy on is in fact the exact one, and most current one you have you can overwrite it. This will destroy the one that was previously in the InScribe Folder if one was already there.
Note: It is always a good idea to have an additional backup of your AutoText not located on the computer you are using in case of hard drive failure.
