Adjusting Location Access Rights for Users that Cannot See Documents

If a user cannot see a document, and they seem to have proper rights to access that document, they may not have the right to access the location that the document is assigned to.

NOTE: This information should be given to a transcription company customer, but it is recommended that Nuance help desk not make these changes for them.

To change a user's location access rights go to Client Maintenance, open the Maintenance menu, and select "Users" from that menu.

From the list of users, select the name of the person who's location access rights you want to change, and then click on Location Access for [username]

A list of Available Locations will appear, and will show if those users have location or proxy based access to each of those locations. It will also show if the user has inherited those access rights from a group, and if group access is overridden or not. In this case, the user has access to Cosmetic Surgery and Main Clinic by the group they are assigned to. However, the red X under Main Clinic means that their access to Main Clinic has been over-ridden and denied to them. The checkbox would need to be clicked on until the check box turns green for that user to gain access to Main Clinic.

Access to Diet Center is granted manually, and is not from the group this user is a member of.

As it is currently set up, this user can see documents that have Diet Center or Main Clinic locations, but cannot see documents that have Cosmetic Surgery or Phys Therapy as their locations.

By clicking on the ? icon on the upper right, the additional help text can be displayed as shown in the screen shot.

After the changes are made, the InQuiry user will have to log out and then log back in to InQuiry for the changes to take effect.
