EMDAT’s Founding Team

Steven Palmisano
Steven Palmisano is the co-founder and CEO of EMDAT, Inc, the industry leader in Web-based transcription solutions. Palmisano has over 23 years of experience with healthcare information systems, and much of that time has been spent working with doctors, medical staff, and administrators to enhance their transcription process, a first but critical step towards implementing an EMR. His years as a Chief Information Officer with major healthcare providers offered him insight into transcription services from a provider’s point of view, as well as an understanding of administrative and operational issues confronting health care practitioners. In 1993, he initiated research into methods for transforming paper medical records into electronic files, and it was from that research that EMDAT was born.

During his career, Palmisano was Chief Information Officer at NeuroSource, Inc., a practice management company, and Medical Associates, P.C., a large multi-specialty clinic. Palmisano also served as Director of Information Technology at Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina, and as Regional Information Systems Director for the largest medical practice management company at the time.

Kevin Saliga
Kevin Saliga is the co-founder and VP of Application Development of EMDAT, Inc, the industry leader in Web-based transcription solutions.  Saliga has over 17 years of experience in application development, and 11 years of experience in developing solutions for the medical industry, writing and managing development of solutions for transcription, medical records processing, and other clinical related processes.  Combining all that he learned from his experience in developing systems for other medical institutions, along with radically new ideas brought to him by the other founders, and the advancement of technology, EMDAT's application suite was designed as a one-of-a-kind solution.

Prior to joining EMDAT, Saliga managed development at NeuroSource, Inc., a practice management company, and Medical Associates, P.C., a large multi-specialty clinic.

Jeffrey Olver
Jeffrey Olver is a co-founder and VP of Technology of EMDAT, Inc., the industry leader in Web-based transcription solution platforms. Olver has over 19 years of experience in healthcare including 10 years with the American Hospital Association.  Olver is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison computer science program.  Olver's experience in implementing and maintaining practice management and EMR's from the clinical perspective has been instrumental in the design of EMDAT’s suite of tools for the convenience, cost savings and ease of use from the healthcare provider perspective.
