Emdat delivers record quarter and expands its business line with new partnership
Emdat Inc., a leading provider of clinical documentation software designed to bridge the gap between Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and traditional dictation, announced today a record quarter for new contract signings. The quarter’s new partnerships include Nelson Systems, a national reseller of technical services and support, as well as multiple medical facilities and regional and government-based medical transcription service providers throughout the United States.
Nelson Systems, Inc. specializes in technical services that support mission critical voice and data applications, including hospitals, law offices, call centers and emergency settings. Nelson Systems will be reselling a host of Emdat applications, including the mobile app Emdat Mobile, which maximize clinician efficiency, increase documentation accuracy and help their healthcare clients provide the best care possible.
Emdat Mobile allows clinicians to enjoy the benefits of an EHR system and comply with meaningful use guidelines without suffering a drop in productivity. Clinicians can dictate and view their schedule directly from their mobile device. Documents can be reviewed, edited, electronically signed and routed on their Apple iOS or Android mobile devices without interrupting face time with patients. EHRs are automatically populated with data derived from the transcription.
“Nelson Systems is very excited to add the Emdat platform to our services for the healthcare market that we have been working with for the last twenty years. Emdat provides a limitless solution that enables medical professionals to better treat patients while saving time and money,” said Nelson Systems CEO, Doug Nelson, Sr. “We knew we wanted to be aligned with Emdat and its forward-looking vision to expand our footprint.”
“Emdat is pleased to announce this new relationship with Nelson Systems in addition to our new partnerships with a number of medical transcription service organizations. The expansion of our distribution channels allows us to bring our suite of applications and its efficient workflow, EHR integration and cost-saving benefits to more medical facilities and health care providers,” states Emdat CEO Randy Olver.
Emdat Makes Medical Documentation More Efficient with Newest Version of InScribe
Emdat announces the newest release of InScribe, the HIPAA-compliant typing application designed to help clinical documentation specialists easily and quickly complete quality documents. InScribe version 4.109 boasts advanced voice recognition (VR) integration and Qualified Text capabilities.
The update to InScribe features unprecedented VR integration with Qualified Text, functionality only Emdat provides. Qualified Text increases physician productivity and decreases transcription costs for medical facilities by automatically generating common text based on medical documentation. InScribe 4.109 utilizes an even deeper integration with M*Modal’s Speech Understanding™ in order to allow Qualified Text to be used inside voice recognition transcriptions.
“As our industry evolves, more medical documentation options are emerging that promote significant efficiencies, but don’t always deliver. At Emdat, we are constantly pushing the standards in order to provide the highest quality solutions that deliver on the promise of your EHR,” said Emdat CEO Randy Olver. “We believe in the future of VR, and InScribe 4.109’s support of Qualified Text within VR makes the dictation process even more efficient and documentation even faster.”
In November 2011, Emdat released version 4.106 of InScribe, which included significant updates that made the application easier to use and more customizable. The latest version of InScribe can be downloaded from Emdat’s software page and update assistance can be found in Emdat’s knowledgebase article.

New Technology Solution Relieves Doctors Of Time-Consuming Data Entry When Using EMRs, According To Emdat White Paper
Fitchburg, WI (June 27, 2010) — A new method of populating electronic medical records that pulls patient information directly from a medical transcription enables physicians to keep their daily workflow the same, according to a white paper released today by Emdat, a provider of web-based medical transcription software.
Most EMR systems on the market today require physicians to personally scroll through an extensive list of checkboxes for every patient they see. As a result they’re forced to spend a large part of their day entering data into a computer. Entitled "Facilitate EMR Success: Discrete Reportable Transcription Shifts Documentation Burden Off Physicians," the white paper cites a finding by the AC Group, a health care technology consultancy, that a physician who sees 40 patients a day will spend an average of 140 minutes entering patient data. Emdat Launches DaRT Solution that Allows Physicians to Use EMRs With No Changes to Daily Workload
Fitchburg, WI (April 27, 2010) – Emdat announces the launch of DaRT, or Discrete accurate Reportable Transcription, a solution that enables more efficient utilization of electronic medical records by seamlessly integrating with Emdat’s online medical transcription platform.
Providers and MTSOs who use Emdat can now populate EMRs with information entered by transcriptionists rather than physicians, allowing doctors to focus on patient care and potentially leading to significant cost savings. By relieving physicians of this time-consuming data entry responsibility, which ultimately reduces the average number of patients he or she can see in a day, DaRT eliminates what has been a major challenge to the successful adoption of electronic records.
